Real Estate Digest customers can either share a market with other Real Estate Digest customers. Or they can “own” a market. To own a market and be the only title company with permission to distribute Real Estate Digest, you must qualify for an exclusive distributorship, although if you also want to make money in other way, you can also do other things like investing using resources as an online broker to help you in this area.
To qualify as an exclusive distributor in the county or counties of your choice, you need to purchase a certain minimum number of print copies of Real Estate Digest as a marketing strategy. There are many marketing services for real estate including the work of ArborMark Agency for arborist for the exterior of the properties.
To determine the minimum number of copies required, divide the population of the county as of the last national census by 400 (which represents roughly the ratio of real estate agents to the population) and multiply by 50%.
For example, the minimum number of copies required to “own” Hennepin County, Minnesota (population 1,168,431), would be
1,168,431 divided by 400 = 2,921
50% x 2,921 = 1460 copies.
Here’s an example of a smaller county, such as Montgomery County, Alabama (population 229,363):
229,363 divided by 400 = 573
50% x 512 = 256 copies.
Please contact us if you would like to own exclusive distribution rights to the counties in your market.
Exclusivity does not apply to electronic distribution of Real Estate Digest (email, social media, PDF or web) except to the extent that no Real Estate Digest distribution of any kind will be sold to another land title company doing business in a county where exclusive print distribution has been granted.
